Hello and welcome to our blog. We are the Social Changency here at Remuera Intermediate in Auckland New Zealand. We work hard to help make our school a better place for all students. Right now we are working on a week called Race Unity Week. Race Unity Week is all about uniting the races and showing people that it doesn't matter what others look like because we're all human. There are a couple of documents we want to share. These outline the events for the year and the values that go with them.

Term
1
23 - 27 March
– Race Unity Day and Week – Week
8 – EVERYONE IS INVOLVED!
A packet of materials will be
given out to classrooms around the topic of race unity. A poster competition will
run between 9 March and 23 March. Winners will be announced at Monday Assembly
30 March.
Term 2
5 June –
World Environment Day - Week 7 (Friday)
Students
can be encouraged to make videos about the environment as a competition. This
project can be in collaboration with the Environmental group at school and
Mr Morris.
Term 3
18 September – Recognition of
the International Day of Peace (15 September) – Week 9 (Friday)
Students can be invited to
write speeches / poetry / songs raps etc. about Peace that can be shared at
Assembly. A competition is a possibility.
Term 4
Weeks
7 and 8 – Service Weeks
Service projects over the fortnight in classrooms or around
school or planned outside school activities.
