We align ourselves with the values programme of our school and endeavour to make a difference to our school and our community. X Factor Contestants Visit & SPCA Fundraiser

Hi! We're back.

We want to tell you about a couple of things that happened at our school yesterday.

First of all, it was Mufti Day which is always fun. Any day without uniform is well appreciated. Our Mufti Day was to raise money for the SPCA. We were allowed to dress up like animals if we wanted so we had many students wear onesies. We even had a Piglet! I don't know how they survived. It wasn't exactly cold yesterday!

Added onto that we got a visit from some very special guests.

In Year 8 Assembly we got a performance from......

JOE IRVINE AND SARAH SPICER!!!

They were contestants on past New Zealand X Factors. They came to our school to perform some songs for us but also to talk to us about following your dreams and bullying.

Sarah Spicer
If you didn't know, Joe Irvine was bullied on X Factor by two of the judges. The woman claimed that he had no creative integrity and was copying her husband's 'look'.

He was wearing a suit by the way.

Her husband then said that it was as if he was going to stitch someone's skin to his face and murder everyone in the audience.

Overall, it was completely unprofessional and uncalled for and the judges were later fired.
Joe Irvine
Joe's experience was international news and basically the entire of New Zealand got behind him. He even got cupcakes from Lorde!!!

So there you go guys. If you get bullied on live television you WILL receive baked goods from a celebrity.

Just kidding. One can dream though. Fingers crossed.

They also talked to us about following your dreams. They said that you should do whatever you want with your life no matter how many people tell you you can't. They'd both wanted to be singers all their lives and look where they are now! It just goes to show you that dream really do come true.

It was a great talk and I feel that everyone enjoyed it. There was even an opportunity to get autographs and photos afterwards.

So Wednesday this week was an eventful day for our school.

That's all for now. Keep checking the blog for more updates and posts.

Bye for now!
