We align ourselves with the values programme of our school and endeavour to make a difference to our school and our community. We will organise special days throughout the year to build awareness of global issues such as the environment and peace. We will concentrate on service and being of benefit to others. Our time to change the world is at our Friday lunchtime meetings with Mr Zemke in the Media Room.

Awesome students from RI giving service in different ways

Year 7 student giving to others that need it more than her

Students from our school are thanked for their service.

Dear Mrs Miller and RI students
What a wonderful group of young ladies! Thank you all so much for helping to create more awareness in our community of Assistance Dogs and for helping to raise funds. Todays raffle ticket selling efforts came to $142!  Thats amazing in under one hour and I felt shoppers were definitely more stressed today. Well done to you all.  Have a relaxing holiday break and wishing you all the very best at your new schools in 2016. Keep an eye out for us mid year during appeal week.

Kind regards

Birgitte and ADNZ Nellie

Keep up that wonderful attitude of service and kindness to help make the world a better place

We would like to thank each and every one of you for helping and supporting us from the start and now to the end, even the people that just looked at our blog for a little peek. Every little view helps us out. We are happy to hear any suggestions from you to help our blog improve.

Our Final Meeting.
Also to the students of Remuera Intermediate (our school), each and every one of you have also been a great support and have inspired us to keep spreading positive messages. Its been gratifying to know that people are out there to support what we believe is important for the social issues in the world. And also a big thanks to everyone who participated in any one or more of our activities or challenges throughout 2015.

Yay RI! Putting Service into Action

SERVICE WEEKS!

We started on the 23rd of November with 28 classes at our school brainstorming ideas. Each class had to think of an act of service they could do to benefit others at home, school or in the community during the two weeks until the 4th of December.

Room 3 made coupons to give to their parents.
When your parents want a job done they will give you a coupon and you then do it immediately.

For Room 17, we picked up rubbish around the school.

There were hundreds of cigarette butts, bottles, and even a dead rat!
We also kept a log of service we would do at home.

Room 24

We went around the school and gave each 28 teachers flowers with a lolly to every teacher we loved seeing the smiles on their faces when they got their gifts.

Room 26
On the 2nd of December, the 33 kids of room 26 held a very successful market day. They sold burgers, sundaes and even slushies. The teacher felt it was important for the students to independently market their own business as they were studying financial literacy. The students started from planning on paper to building their own stalls. They donated $746 to Starship Hospital.
