Our Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement

We are an active globally-minded group from Remuera Intermediate School in Auckland New Zealand, that are concerned about the important issues of today. We align ourselves with the values programme of our school and endeavour to make a difference to our school and our community. We will organise special days throughout the year to build awareness of global issues such as the environment and peace. We will concentrate on service and being of benefit to others. Our time to change the world is at our Friday lunchtime meetings with Mr Zemke in the Media Room.

2020 Race Unity Poster Competition

Due to the shutdown of the school in March we had less entries to our poster competition this year.

The ones that were submitted were fantastic and we are so grateful to those students that took the time to create a beautiful poster sharing such an important and timely message.

Five Year 7s produced these amazing posters:

Mia M from Room 27

Alice P from Room 26

Victoria F from Room 27

Claudia F from Room 17

Elly L from Room 1

These are entries from some of the Year 8s at our school:

Anais K from Room 19

Berengere P from Room 21

Micah H from Room 3

Yahavi S from Room 25

Elva Z from Room 3

Greta V from Room 25

So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.

Enviro Week - Friday - The Big Quiz - 19 June

During the week we had asked for classes to choose two students to represent their class to participate in a quiz on the environment. 16 classes sent students to take part on the day.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves. There were six sections, Air and Water, Who is this?, Plastic, Spelling, Pollution and Endangered Animals.

Here are some photos from the day kindly taken by Leo Gillard from Room 27.

The winning classes were for Year 8 - Rooms 22, 7, 4 and 5. The top Year 7 classes were Rooms 26, 15 and 18.
Thank you to all of the students that showed up to participate in the quiz. We hope that you learned something new.
